Now that we have established that hostas are grown from roots rather than bulbs, I would be interested in knowing what would be the best method for transplanting them at this time of year. I also am moving and would like to take the hostas with me if we could. For instance, could they be removed from the ground and kept in water until Spring; or could they be removed and planted at this time (late November in Illinois)?
