bell peppers problems

From: Agatha - Louisiana
Date: 08 Aug 2003

How is possible that my bell pepper plants can have one inch+ caterpillars on them overnight? They are so hard to see that perhaps they have been there more than one day, but I just noticed them today - I water my peps everyday (I live in south La.) and have never noticed them before - I think they may also be known as cabbage loopers, but how did they end up on my bell peps and what do I need to do? Is there any home remedy or do I need something with Bt. I had no trouble at all last year with my bell pepper plants and this year it has been challenging (aphids, mealybugs etc. and now caterpillars) thanks, Agatha
