shade + lime in soil
From: Shannon, Tennessee
I would assume that most shade plants love an acid soil, as that would be how woods soil is? Ii live in a woods, but my crazy builders deposited lime and limey gravel in many places around my house, then covered it up with our local Tennessee red clay. I can dig out the clay and replace with some better loamy dirt, sand, and compost. But I feel the PH is permanently tainted by the lime and builder's gravel. What grows in shade but likes lime? Only thing I've found so far is a maidenhair fern. I need some SHRUBS, especially, but annuals and perennials too!
