Tiarella cordifolia is a native of eastern North America. It is easy to grow and spreads by means of runners. It may be divided any time of the year, but spring time is best. Tiarella unifoliata is a larger plant that forms dense clumps. Its flowering season is longer than that of Tiarella cordifolia, but it is rare in cultivation. It is a native from California to Alaska. Tiarella polyphylla is from Bhutan and Nepal. It is very simillar to Tiarella cordifolia, but smaller.
